Happy Birthday to Us!

A few major events happened in 2010 – Instagram launched, Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest man-made structure, opened; the longest annular solar eclipse of the 3rd millennium occurred and South Africa hosted the successful 2010 FIFA World Cup. But most importantly for White River residents and visitors, the doors of Magnolia Restaurant slid open. Diners, both local and international, haven’t look back since.

A dream of fine-dining, using fresh, seasonal and local produce and delivering the latest cuisine trends in an idyllic setting inspired Chef Jamie Watt to create menus that have something for everyone. Over the past 15 years, Magnolia has settled into the White River cuisine scene and become the ‘go-to’ venue for events such as CUPPA for CANSA, wine and whiskey tastings, private celebrations, business meetings, romantic dinners à deux, outside catering and is the place where people meet for coffees or cocktails.

But, how does a blossoming young lady celebrate her special day? With style, we say! Jamie is doing what he does best, tucking himself into the kitchen preparing a memorable food feast of menu highlights over the years; there will be entertainment, welcome drinks, food stations and a photobooth. And the ideas and plans keep evolving, so stay tuned to our social media for updates on events. The big day is Thursday 20th March, 18h00 til late and dress code smart/cocktail please.
